Missy Smith

Where did you grow up?
I grew up in the outer suburbs of Melbourne, Australia. Living on the edge of the forest, I developed a love of the outdoors and have fond memories of camping with family by the beach every Christmas and Easter.

What other parts of the world have you lived in?
I have lived most of my adult life in Papua New Guinea (PNG), returning to Australia in mid 2024. PNG is a beautiful place to live and the most linguistically diverse country in the world. As a volunteer, I served in various roles over the years. Still, the most rewarding was living in a remote village community, sharing life, training literacy teachers, and teaching classes to those who never had the chance to attend school.

What are you looking forward to about your role with venue360?
Simply put, “helping people”. I’m excited to collaborate with customers and users to understand their unique needs and ensure they get the most value from the software, enabling camps and events to operate effectively.

What are some of your hobbies or passions outside of work?
To relax, I enjoy hiking, cycling, and spending time outdoors in the Australian bush. When it’s cold or wet, I love sitting by an open fire doing a jigsaw puzzle or playing games with friends. I have a passion for good food, and regularly challenge myself with new recipes and cooking from scratch.

What is your favorite food?
I enjoy most foods, especially trying foods from around the world. But you’ll often hear me say all food is better with either cheese or chocolate.
